using visualisations

One of the first steps of achieving a goal is getting clear about what you actually want and writing your specific goals down.

However, sometimes it's just not that easy – we often have conflicting ideas about what we want or have such strong limiting beliefs about whether we can accomplish them that we dismiss them off hand.

Try this 2 minute tip;

Picture yourself in the future after achieving your goal.  What does your future look like, are you happy, do you seem content?

Remember you are focusing on the results of your goal NOT the goal itself.  This is after you have achieved the goal, so you should be happy.  If not, why are you not happy?

Have you realised that achieving the goal would make you unhappy? Is there something about this picture that you are not happy with?  It could be something small, but even so this could be the thing that is stopping you from getting motivated to achieving your goal, so take note!

You may want to write your results down and compare it to your original goal – does the goal still seem important to you?  Do you still want to achieve it?  If not, why not?

Don't be put off by limiting beliefs ('I won't, I can't, I don't, I shouldn't' etc)  They are just your perception of the truth NOW.

You could try combining EFT on the results of this visualisation and see if it changes your mind at all, it may be that your original goal just needs to be tweaked slightly to truly make you happy.

If you are finding it hard to do this visualisation exercise, just try imagining watching yourself on a TV screen living the life of your dreams.

Once you have clarity about your goal, make it as realistic as possible in your visualisations. Make the colours brighter, the smells stronger, the sounds louder etc.  There are no rules to visualisations, you are the director and only you can make something happen or stop something from happening.

Lastly, this is your goal, nobody else's, so make sure that you are not trying to achieve something that your parents or peers want for you.

If you want a goal enough – anything is possible.

I would really love to hear your comments, thoughts or tips on using visualisations.  Do you use visualisations?  How do they help you to focus?
