Free EFT Script #1 – I Can't Do That.
The script is called “I Can’t Do That’ because whenever we try to achieve a goal or move forward, our limiting beliefs spring to the surface and put obstacles in our way to stop us from achieving what we want – and we start to think thoughts like “I can’t do that”. We may think that these obstacles, reasons or excuses are real, but they are not real. Our beliefs are just our beliefs, and beliefs CAN be changed.
So even though you feel like you can’t achieve your goal, try using this script for a few days and see how it helps you to change your inner beliefs, by letting go of your old beliefs and creating new ones.
This is a general script, so when using the script, please feel free to change any of the words that don’t feel true for you, just swap them for words that seem more relevant to your particular situation.
Before starting this script, close your eyes and take a deep breath whilst trying to tune into the feelings that you are currently going through about not being able to achieve your goal.
When you have managed to tune into the feelings, what is the intensity of them on a scale of 1-10? (10 being really intense and 1 being hardly anything at all).
Make a note of this number and you are ready to start tapping.

Karate Chop Point; Even though I truly believe that I can’t do that, I deeply and completely accept myself.
Even though I honestly believe that I can’t do it, I deeply and completely believe in myself
Even though I know I can’t do it, I deeply and completely love myself anyway.
Top of head; I can’t do that
Side of Eye; I’ll never be able to do it
Under Eye; It will just never happen for me
Under Nose; I can’t
Chin; I can’t do it
Collarbone; Things like that don’t happen to people like me
Under Arm; It just wouldn’t happen
Take a deep breath, hold for a second and breathe out.
Top of head; Not for me
Side of Eye; No way
Under Eye; Maybe somebody else could do that
Under Nose; In fact, I know they have
Chin; but I can’t do it
Collarbone; because things like that don’t happen to people like me
Under Arm; Do they?
Deep breath.
Top of head; What would they think of me if I tried to do it
Side of Eye; and failed!!
Under Eye; It would be great to do it
Under Nose; but I just know that I can’t do it
Chin; so why bother trying?
Collarbone; Maybe, I am just going to have to accept that it MAY be possible
Under Arm; Because if I know other people can do it, it IS possible
Deep breath
Top of head; Ok, I choose to believe it is possible
Side of Eye; Anything is possible
Under Eye; I choose to believe that it is not so far fetched to think
Under Nose; I might be able to do this
Chin; one day
Collarbone; if I put my mind to it
Under Arm; but there are so many obstacles
Deep breath
Top of head; Other people achieve success, but they don’t have the obstacles I have
Side of Eye; Do they?
Under Eye; I give myself permission to let go of these obstacles and excuses
Under Nose; I really can do that right now
Chin; So if I can do that, maybe
Collarbone; I can achieve my goal
Under Arm; I am choosing to believe that I CAN do it.
Take 3 very deep breaths and keep tapping gently on top of your head for a few seconds before beginning again…
Top of head; I’m ready to let go
Side of Eye; I’m ready to let go of all of these excuses
Under Eye; All of this negative inner chatter
Under Nose; All of these OLD beliefs that told me I couldn’t do it
Chin; It’s time for a new belief
Collarbone; because I can do it
Under Arm; If they can do it, why can’t I?
Top of head; I can do that
Side of Eye; I choose to believe that I can and WILL do that
Under Eye; I believe it is possible, even for me!
Under Nose; People have achieved MUCH bigger goals than this
Chin; The only thing that is stopping me is my old beliefs
Collarbone; But I’ve let them go, so now there is NOTHING to stop me
Under Arm; Nothing to get in my way
Deep breath.
Top of head; I am free to achieve this goal
Side of Eye; I am a step closer to achieving this goal
Under Eye; This is my time
Under Nose; I’ve waited too long already
Chin; I totally believe I can do this
Collarbone; because I can now see that I really can do it
Under Arm; My belief in myself is getting bigger and stronger every minute
Top of head; I truly believe that I can do this and I am ready.
Take 3 deep breaths and try to tune into the feelings again. If you are still feeling any intensity or negativity about achieving your goal, start again.
This time, make sure that you ‘tap’ on any thoughts that pop up in your mind as you go through the script and if the intensity levels rise DO NOT STOP! This means that you are really making progress, keep tapping even if you cannot speak whilst tapping. Just keep going until the intensity drops.
